"Quest for the Cup: A Season with the London Knights" was a memorable project, not only for its longevity, but for all the connections I made with great co-workers and the learning experiences that come from such a large production.
I was hired by Fadoo Productions in August 2013 as the Production Manager for this challenging task; an eight part episodic series detailing the daily grind of a junior hockey team's season, and not just any junior hockey team. This was the London Knights; a storied franchise many revere and a model comparable to most NHL franchises.
For over seven months, we followed the Knights almost everywhere they went in their quest to capture the MasterCard Memorial Cup; from home games to practices to team events in the city. Many days and nights were logged on the road for games covering the Ontario Hockey League schedule; as far north as North Bay, Sudbury, and Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, and even crossing the border to the likes of Saginaw, Michigan and Erie, Pennsylvania.
I spent many nights in London, Ontario and felt like a part of the city; I will always cherish the relationships I built with the team, the arena and hotel staff, and all the workers in the bars and restaurants we frequented during our stay. We met so many friendly people and they always made us feel welcome. It was a truly a great time.
This is the trailer detailing the moments from all eight episodes of "Quest for the Cup."
