Getting School'd at ICAST with Mark Zona
At World Fishing Network, we wanted to create a program showcasing the latest fishing products to hit the market each year. JP DeRose is as knowledgable as they come with fishing gear and very good at instructing amateur anglers; so we decided to merge the two ideas into one show. I produced the first four seasons of Getting School'd with JP DeRose from 2008 to 2012 and built a great relationship with JP; I've even become a better angler because of him (well, that's what I tell myself) :)
Every year, we attended ICAST, the biggest fishing trade show featuring the newest products and we asked pro anglers to tell us what they were most excited about. We used three cameras at the show; a Canon DSLR EOS 7D mounted on a Steadicam, and two Sony PMW-EX1 HD cameras, one on a Porta-Jib. The products were shot in studio utilizing Sony PMW-F3 HD cameras on a turntable.
The ICAST 2011 Best of Show winner in the Freshwater Rod category was the G-Loomis GL-2 series. Mark Zona gives us the reasons why, in his own unique way.
